Is sushi an acquired taste? We live in Rancho Cucamonga and we don’t think so!
I moved to Southern California, more specifically Rancho Cucamonga 14 years ago from Ohio. There are many freshwater lakes and rivers around Ohio but at the time one would never really find fresh fish. Needless to say I was raised on beef and chicken so I had never really acquired a taste for seafood, it just wasn’t available.
When I moved to California things started to change. My friends introduced me to salmon, bass, and swordfish. There are many restaurants that serve seafood, some better than others and very few that offer seafood as a specialty.
Rather quickly I acquired a taste for fresh fish and even on occasion would attempt to make it at home. Unfortunately, cooking fish whether baking, steaming or grilling takes quite a bit of practice. I’ve learned it’s relatively easy to ruin $30 in fresh fish on the grill!
Last year we lived across the street from Victoria Gardens Mall and would often take the kids there to play, get coffee and shop. It is truly a fun and safe place to spend a weekend day. We’ve been to most of the restaurants at Victoria Gardens, they each have their specialty.
Whenever we have a craving for fish (this is often), we go to King’s Fish House. If you’re looking for a seafood restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga or the Inland Empire for that matter King’s is absolutely the place to go.
I love the salmon while my wife typically goes for the halibut or bass. They’re all fantastic and you just can’t go wrong.
What is our favorite you ask? The sushi! My wife is certainly more of an expert on sushi than I am, she says it’s the best she’s ever had.
For me, sushi is now my preferred order when I go to King’s Fish House. Our standard order is 8 orders of the salmon sushi (16 pieces) and one of their cut rolls. Last time we were there we had the spicy tuna roll, which is spicy tuna and Japanese cucumber. Their sushi just melts in your mouth.
We have converted many non-sushi eaters to sushi lovers just by introducing them to King’s. So, if you’re a sushi aficionado or trying it for the first time, we recommend King’s Fish House at the Victoria Gardens Mall.

We love ice cream, mint chocolate chip happens to be my personal favorite, but eating too much can easily go to the waist line and all that sugar and fat isn’t the healthiest choice.
