Sprout’s Markets-Fresh Local Produce and More…

Inside Business We’ve been fans of Sprout’s Market in Claremont for quite some time. The produce is spectacular and we appreciate their efforts in buying locally when possible. It’s been worth the 10 minute drive from our Rancho home.

We purchase all of our beef, poultry and fish from Sprouts and have found that the prices are very competitive. Most important to us though has always been the level of service. For us this means the staff of Sprouts has always taken the time to answer questions we have, even on their extensive vitamin and supplement lines.

Sprouts Farmers Market, an Arizona based company, is one of the nation’s fastest growing retailers sprouting in Arizona, California and Texas. Sprouts specializes in farm fresh produce, purchased from local growers when possible. The old fashioned market also offers a large selection of: vitamins and supplements • bodycare • all natural meats and fresh seafood • bins full of bulk foods & spices • natural and organic grocery items • rBST free milk • imported cheeses and deli meats • much more!

Customers enjoy a friendly, educated staff in a fun and easy-going atmosphere. We pride ourselves on our value to the customer and are proud to be able to provide monthly educational events in each of our stores! Plus, Sprouts proudly supports local communities with product donations, sponsorships, educational events and more. For more information on monthly events, weekly ads and locations, visit www.sprouts.com.

We don’t consider ourselves wine connoisseurs but we do love California Merlot and Cabernet. We typically tap the staff for their favorites and they’ve always given us guidance in what wine to select based on the our preferences.

The Sprout’s Market in Claremont is located at: 835 W. Foothill Blvd.
Claremont, CA 91711
Hours 8am-10pm

Sprout’s offers a fantastic magazine with health tips and great recipes too!

Your Local Verizon Store..The Independent Franchise

Inside Business

We’ve always been big fans of Verizon wireless (not be be confused with Verizon land line service). They’ll be the first ones to tell you they’re somehow not connected even though they have the same name.

We’re believers in “the network”, the service has always been great and only on a very rare occasion has a call been dropped (typically inside a parking garage).

Recently I spoke with the manager of a Verizon store in Rancho who proceeded to provide me with the best customer service I’ve ever had. She had a genuine interest in saving me money and making sure I was happy with not only the service but my device.

At the time, I had no idea this location was an independently owned franchise and not a corporate store nor did I know the difference until I began to interact with the employees. The difference is they (the employees and management) have a genuine interest in making sure you are happy with your service and your device.

They have literally spent several hours over the course of a couple weeks helping me with my services, which include 2 phone accounts and a wireless data account for my laptop, which I desperately needed for my business. I came out of the store feeling completely informed about what to expect with the services and the hardware.

In contrast, my most recent experience with 2 different corporate stores (when telling them my phone was malfunctioning) was “we’re sorry, there’s nothing we can do”. That statement is business 101, never tell your customer there’s nothing you can do. To make matters worse, my phone was only out of warranty by 3 weeks and they still refused to even help me with it. AND this was after the salesperson had specifically told me that my model had a known problem.

Fortunately, the Verizon independent franchise in Upland made things right, I’ll never go anywhere else.

Verizon is now offering $99/mo. unlimited calling. This includes long distance and calls to any line regardless of carrier. Line 2 would be another $99 then it’s $9 for each additional line. This is a great deal for families or business owners with a sales team.

We even discussed some of the new phones and pda’s coming out from Verizon and how they are opening up the new “any apps, any device” option later this year. Basically, this means you should be able to use any piece of mobile hardware out there with Verizon’s service. The Voyager from Verizon might be the most intuitive phone I’ve used, particularly with its qwerty keyboard (that’s a mini button keyboard). The citizens we met who have this phone love it.

This Verizon franchise is located at the Colonies Crossroads shopping center (which can be seen from the 210 freeway at Campus). Contact Lisa Richter: TEL: (909) 920-0409
