About Bosley hair prices, Understanding the cost

I’m interested in Bosley hair restoration but I don’t know the prices for services.

A friend of mine had Bosley hair restoration and was very pleased with it.  He does look completely different (much better).  He was only 32 when he started losing his hair.

Only a Bosley physician can evaluate and approve candidacy for a permanent hair restoration procedure.

However, a good first step to gaining a general understanding of cost is to schedule a free, private consultation with a Bosley Senior Counselor.

Bosley Senior Counselors are thoroughly trained with some having experienced the benefits of permanent hair restoration.  During your consultation, a counselor will answer your general questions on the causes of hair loss, hair loss treatment options and a typical range of cost.  Only Bosley physicians can determine that you are suitable for hair transplantation and provide a definitive answer on cost.

Generally, most Bosley patients invest between four thousand and twelve thousand dollars per procedure.

For more information on Bosley permanent hair restoration, treatment options and a typical range of cost, call 1-800-985-6405 to schedule your free, private consultation.  Or, fill out this short form to schedule your consultation and opt for the free information kit and DVD at the top of the page.

There are over 88 Bosley locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.  To find the most convenient location for you, use this Bosley office locator.

Bosley permanent hair restoration is a remarkably simple outpatient procedure.  This procedure involves taking hair from where you have more than you need and moving the hairs and follicles to areas that are thinning or bald.

This “donor area” is on the sides and back of the head where the follicles are resistant to the hormone, DHT. DHT (dihydrotestosterone), is the primary cause of male pattern hair loss.  DHT causes hair follicles to slowly close, over time, the hair will thin and eventually fall out.

Hair follices that are resistant to DHT retain this resistance when transplanted to thin or balding areas.

The Bosley permanent hair restoration procedure is described in further detail here.

To help manage out-of-pocket expense, Bosley Medical offers financing through Capital One Healthcare Finance.  Currently, Capital One Healthcare offers financing up to 60 months and fixed rates as low as 1.99% APR.  Capital One’s terms and rates are subject to change without notice.  Apply on-line to view up-to-date offers and finance information.  Applications can also be submitted by phone, call 1-877-559-5050.

Bosley Medical and Bosley

Bosley Medical, Bosley and my friend’s new permanent hair restoration.

A couple of years ago I ran into a friend of mine at Victoria Gardens.  He was losing his hair and stressed out to say the least.  While we were at a restaurant/bar a Bosley Medical commercial came on.  He joked about the need for a Bosley hair transplant.  I didn’t take him seriously but I should have.  About a year later I saw him again, at the same restaurant, but now with a full head of hair.  I really didn’t know much about the procedure only that the ones I’ve seen in the past didn’t look very natural, but his looked incredible.  I couldn’t tell that he had transplants at all.  Needless to say, he’s a happy and much more confident guy after his Bosley procedure.

I don’t really need a procedure.  My hair seems pretty normal for being 38 but I was intrigued by what he had done so I did a bit of research.  This is the perk you get for being a full-time web researcher.  What I found was pretty cool.  I had no idea what was available for  hair loss today, particularly from Bosley.  They have their new Bosley laser comb as well as some new genetic test that will tell you if you’re going to be bald later in life.  I think the purpose of the test is so you can better manage your hair loss before it happens, a preemptive strike if you will.  It seems like a good idea to me.

So based on the research I’ve done, Bosley seems to be the top company in this industry with experience dating back to the ’70’s.  Experience is good, you don’t need someone practicing on you!

The best information I found was the following, which also contains a unique Bosley video.  The video shows one man’s experience with Bosley Medical from beginning to end.  Yes, this includes footage of the actual Bosley procedure being done.

What is a hair transplant?

This is a procedure where we take hair from where you have more than you need and artistically place it where you need more.  This procedure takes donor dominant (DHT resistant) hair follicles and transplants them into thinning or balding areas.

Some of the hair transplants I’ve seen don’t look natural.  Why is this?

If you see a recently completed hair restoration that does not look natural it’s likely because it’s a bad hair transplant.

Bosley hair transplants are virtually undetectable because they are so natural-looking.  We’ve discussed in our multi-part series that follicular units grow in groupings of 1-4 hairs typically.  These groupings of hairs are randomly placed in hand-done recipient sites.  The emphasis at Bosley is to try to duplicate nature.  The microtechnologies used have been refined to a point where often even other medical doctors are unable to differentiate between natural hairs that are original and those that have been transplanted.

Do you do hair transplants on women?

Current estimates at Bosley are that 20 million American women are experiencing some level of female pattern hair loss.

Dr. Bosley says ”The great majority of women with typical female pattern hair loss can be helped significantly,”.  Women can lose their hair in a pattern different from men but the treatment for both is similar.

As in men, the doctor locates a donor area with sufficient healthy hair.  Dr. Bosley states ”Women usually have a similar donor area to men. This means they have enough supply to fulfill the demand, so the results are usually very good.”

Bosley Medical > Yardhouse hair loss story

About three years ago we lived directly across the street from the Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga.

If anything, it was convenient for shopping and eating out, which we love to do. One of our favorite watering holes at the outdoor mall is the Yardhouse restaurant. We like this restaurant for the simple but good menu, the 100+ beers they offer, the tv’s placed everywhere so you can watch your favorite game and of course, the people. Many people have found Yardhouse to be the place to go on the weekends and even on select weekday evenings. Social hour starts at about 8:00pm and goes on until closing time.My wife and I go there because it’s fun without the “club” type environment. Most of the people are young professionals that behave themselves (for the most part), though it does have a “pick up” feel to it.  Being married I have no interest in looking around but many of the men there do. I had forgotten how hard it was being single and trying to find the right person.Though it may seem obvious, much of the initial attraction to people is physical, how a person looks that gains attention and maybe an introduction. It was just 3 years ago in the restroom a saw a gentleman fretting over his hair in the mirror, moving it in multiple directions trying to get better coverage I suppose. He was thinning on top, which most of us will at some point, some sooner than others. He couldn’t help but comment after he noticed I caught him playing with his hair. He said “man I gotta go to Bosley and do something about this”.I remember telling him to give it a try, at least it’s permanent, probably doesn’t cost that much for his level of hair loss.It was a light conversation. I didn’t think I’d run into this guy again but about 18 months later I did. The only difference was he didn’t look the same.It turns out he took my advice and gave Bosley a try. Honestly, I was surprised how natural it turned out, one would never know.I haven’t had a problem with hair loss (yet) but when discussing this with my wife she enlightened me to the fact that it’s probably really hard to have something your entire life (your hair) then suddenly (or what seems suddenly) it’s gone. I guess that makes sense. The good news is that the technology has obviously come a long way. Bosley Medical seems to be the leader at this and I know of at least one happy customer where it changed everything for him. They have a couple of websites.I did some research and found this one www.bosleymedical.com.The information is good and they describe how things have changed and how the process works.I think the key for most people is to know that the end result is going to be undetectable. From my untrained eye what Bosley had done for this gentleman was great. Apparently they do this for women too, which is interesting. I have seen a few women with thinning hair but not nearly as many as men, maybe they do a better job of hiding it.
